Tubes...

We have had many visits to the Dr and even 2 trips to the ER in London's short life already.  The problem....ear infections.  She has had a total of 6 infections in the past year.  Her symptom always starts with a cough about a week before the infection strikes.  It seems as if when one clears up we are back at the Dr a few weeks later getting another antibiotic.

A few weeks ago Londons God-Mama, Ashley took us for a spin in her new car.  We decided to go into Michaels to look at some crafts and once we got in the store London got the chills and had goosebumps---this was strange because it was really nice out and the store wasn't cold at all.

We quickly left the store once London's body was hot to the touch and once we were leaving the parking lot this is what London looked like...

Thankfully Luke was on his way home from a hunting trip and I told him to pick up some OJ for her and some Ibuprofrin.  Once I got home I took her temp and it read 103.6 so I called Luke back and told him to skip the trip to the store because we would be heading to the ER.  This is London waiting for Daddy to get home...
This was Lukes first visit to the ER with London---he usually gets to skip out on these fun visits because he is working.  I think he would rather be at work then have to witness such a sad baby, but he did enjoy the cuddling.  Here they are in the waiting room...we were there for 2.5 hours.
Once we finally got home we changed into our comfy clothes and relaxed and watched some Barney.
I made her some chicken noodle soup but she wasn't interested.  We Luke even made homemade banana pudding topped with nilla wafers and she turned her head to that too...
After a few days of "fasting" I was desperate for her to eat so we made a stop to Dairy Queen and ordered a chocolate malt and some fries---she LOVED it and I was so happy that she was eating again.

Hop Pop and Mimi (Diane) made some oatmeal chocolate chip cookies for the patient and she gobbled those right up too.

London had her follow up appointment with Dr Bomgaars and he referred us to Dr Crawford, an ENT specialist with Boys Town.  We had an appointment with him and he said she would be a great candidate for tubes.  She is scheduled for surgery (YIKES!!!!) next Thursday.  It breaks my heart knowing she will be under anesthesia and I won't be by her side but I know she will be in good hands. We are definately looking forward to the end of her ear infections and hope to enjoy the cold and flu season with no colds or the flu! :)

Here is London waiting for the Dr to come in....So glad my Mom was there to entertain London and to have another set of ears listening to the Dr. THANKS MOM!!!

We go to Dr Bomgaars next week for a physical before surgery day.

Oprah's London's Favorite Things

So I'm sure you have heard of Oprah's Favorite Things where she raves about products that she reccommends.  Well, London has started her list of must haves according to her!

Here are her must haves for shopping, having to sit quietely, & getting hair cuts...

Must haves for relaxing...Binki, Nap Nanny & Blanket

Must haves for a yummy meal...

And most importantly....her must haves for a good time...

Not only are these must haves for London but they are must haves for Mommy too! :)

Family

London is blessed to have so many family members in her life.  Luckily we live close to all of them and can see each other at the spur of the moment.  London "made" her Grandparents some cookies for Grandparents day.
Here she is with Hop Pop---a name that Sophia started.
Second stop Grandma DD and Papa Ron's
Our third stop---or actually visitor was Grandma Laura and Grandpa Steve
Our final visit for the day was Grandpa Lonnie and Grandma Elaine

After looking at these pictures I realized that the cookies we made were actually for London and not her Grandparents! :)  That explains why she didn't eat dinner that night.  London is so lucky to have such a close relationship with all of her Grandparents.

Hello there...sure has been awhile!

Ok so I'm a terrible blogger---its been a few months!

Fall has officially begun and it is my all time favorite season!! I love the smell of pumpkin candles, the cool crisp air, and football! Unfortunately we live in a split house...Luke likes the Hawks and I like the Huskers---so its a bit challenging now that we have a daughter. Luckily I'm the one that dresses her (for the most part) so she gets to rock the Red and White!

But I have to admit she does look pretty cute in Black & Gold....I love that she is posing here!

We have been so busy lately--we went to Vala's Pumpkin Patch on Friday with Aunt Kristin and Cousin Sophia oh and Baby boy Durick :) Kristin is due in February and London will finally have a BOY cousin and I will have a nephew!!!

Saturday we went to the 1st annual Crescent parade with Bridget and Kylie. London was so excited to be riding in the back seat with Kylie that she was cracking up almost the whole way there. The parade was short but the girls had fun and got some candy!

We went to a firestation open house with Grandma Laura today and the only thing London wanted was a red balloon that happened to be stuck on the ceiling.

So we came home and blew up a pink one--London & Bowie had fun playing with it!

Tomorrow we start another busy week filled with storytime at the library, a trip to the zoo, a MOPS meeting, slumber party with Sophia, another trip to Valas, and some quality time with family---no wonder I've been going to bed around 8pm!
